City Of Port Wentworth Swears In Councilmember-elect Artlise Alston-Cone

PORT WENTWORTH, GA - November 21, 2023

The City of Port Wentworth swore in ArtLise Alston-Cone on Nov. 20 as the new Councilmember-Elect for At-Large Post 1.

Alston-Cone won the vacant seat for the At-Large Post 1 position during the Nov. 7 election and will serve the remaining two years of the term.

ArtLise Alston-Cone has lived in Port Wentworth for 17 years and currently works as an educator. Her goal is to provide a quality of life for Port Wentworth residents through smart development by improving infrastructure, especially the traffic situation, increasing resources for the down and uptown areas and fostering partnerships for the city.

“I am excited for this opportunity and look forward to hearing from the citizens of Port Wentworth about what they feel the community needs,” said Alston-Cone.

Alston-Cone joins Mayor Pro Tem Thomas Barbee, Gabrielle Nelson (District 1), Mark Stephens (District 2), Rufus Bright (District 3), and Shawn Randerwala (District 4).

The City of Port Wentworth Mayor and Council meet at 7 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month. The Mayor and Council shall also meet at 7 p.m. the second Tuesday, quarterly throughout the calendar year.
